Main Job Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent, professional customer service
  • Wraps and displays all fresh cut meat and seafood products
  • Ensures accurate weighing and labeling of all fresh cut, prepackaged and frozen meat and seafood products
  • Displays and rotates products according to PCC standards
  • Maintains proper signage, pricing and labeling
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills
  • Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
  • Assists meat department coordinator and meat department staff as needed
  • May place orders as directed
  • Handling equipment including hand wrapping station, automatic wrapping station, pricing and labeling scales
  • Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
  • Able to identify cuts of meat, fish and poultry
  • Previous experience in meat wrapping and handling preferred but willing to train
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills
  • Basic reading and math skills in order to understand and follow recipes
  • Must have initiative and be dependable
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including weekends
  • Must be able to meet physical demands including constant walking, squatting, standing, bending, twisting, reaching over-and-under, repetitive motion and lifting up to 60lbs. regularly
  • A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
