Overview

PCC Community Markets is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Loss Prevention Manager to join our grocery co-op. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure retail environment.  This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to minimize retail loss, provide a safe and secure shopping establishment, and protect the co-op’s assets. This role involves collaborating with various teams to foster a culture of security and accountability and implement strong security measures.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor store activities proactively to identify security risks and other situations related to loss, fraud and theft
  • Regularly conduct audits of inventory, cash handling procedures, and operational practices to identify vulnerabilities and recommend areas for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, rules and regulations relating to enforcement of loss prevention policies
  • Develop KPIs and observe trends to determine actionable insights and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Create and enforce policies and procedures related to loss prevention, safety, and emergency response
  • Develop and implement comprehensive loss prevention strategies to reduce shrink from theft and protect against retail fraud
  • Conduct investigations into theft, fraud, and other loss, appropriately document investigative conclusions and compile reports and evidence for appropriate action
  • Work closely with management, staff, and local law enforcement to create and maintain effective security measures and supply accurate records of investigations
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents and loss prevention activities
  • Select and supervise competent third-party security firms, and issue post orders for contracted security services
  • Partner with third party consultants and PCC’s training team to offer and develop needed safety or security training
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on loss prevention best practices, and issue, implement and monitor safety protocols
  • Engage with customers and staff to foster a safe shopping environment and address any security-related concerns
  • Other related projects and duties, as requested

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in loss prevention, security management, or a related role, preferably in a retail or grocery environment.
  • Loss Prevention Certifications are a plus (CPP, PCI, CFE, LPC, LPQ, CSS, CRSO.)
  • Intermediate level of math and computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with loss prevention technologies, data analytics reporting and surveillance systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Commitment to the values of a co-op and a strong customer service ethos.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization from staff to co-op leadership.
  • Flexible schedule with availability to meet business needs.
  • Will be required to drive to all PCC locations as needed.
  • Must be able to meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and lifting 10–40lbs regularly.
