  • Overview

    The Copywriter is responsible for researching and crafting a variety of compelling long- and short-form content, which includes: advertising and promotional copywriting, emails, social media and other marketing writing.

    Main Job Responsibilities

    • Researches and crafts a variety of compelling long- and short-form content, which includes: advertising and promotional copywriting, emails, social media and other marketing writing
    • Mines for information, gems and little known details that are competitive differentiators for the co-op and weave them into compelling copy, headlines and content
    • Ensures consistent voice and tone across all co-op marketing materials and in alignment with the brand guidelines
    • Meets deadlines while handling multiple, ongoing content projects
    • Proactively offers ideas for content, promotions, social media and other initiatives
    • Works collaboratively across the organization – both within the marketing team and with merchandising, store operations, HR, public affairs, and the stores, at large
    • Fearlessly willing to jump in and figure out the creative writing challenge at hand
    • Handles confidential information using discretion and judgement

     

    Reporting Relationships

    Reports to: Content Manager

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts or related arts degree
    • 3+ years of advertising copywriting or email, digital and social media writing; food writing experience preferred
    • An intuitive sense for storytelling
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Familiarity with basic proofreading marks
    • Knowledge of social media best practices
    • Experience with Microsoft Office as well as working knowledge of content management systems and Adobe InDesign
    • Able to work within SEO framework; demonstrated success using optimization to harness organic search
    • Has an eye for appropriate language and references regarding food trends and issues within the industry
    • Knowledge of and interest in new content/editorial tactics
    • Excellent team player who thrives brainstorming in small and large groups, and appreciates working collaboratively as well as independently
    • Passion for food and PCC’s values
