Overview

Meat Counter Service Clerks provide excellent, professional customer service. They stock, merchandise and clean the meat service case.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent, professional customer service
  • Stocks, merchandises and cleans the meat service case
  • Displays and rotates products according to PCC standards
  • Ensures accurate weighing and labeling of all service case products
  • Maintains proper signage, pricing and labeling of the meat counter service case
  • Addresses and communicates counter needs with other meat department staff
  • Maintains accurate record keeping and inventory
  • Prepares marinades, burgers, assembles skewers and other meat preparation tasks as needed in accordance with PCC recipes
  • Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
  • Ensures proper use of meat equipment and maintenance of tools
  • Becomes knowledgeable about fresh cut meat and seafood
  • Assists meat department coordinator and meat department staff as needed

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to: Meat Coordinator and Store Director

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven ability to perform excellent, professional customer service
  • Basic knowledge of PCC products, meat and seafood
  • Basic knife skills required
  • Available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic math skills for measurement and scale functions
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of standing, twisting, bending, repetitive motion and lifting 10-40lbs on a regular basis
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
