The Sr. Manager of Community and Giving is responsible for managing the co-op’s giving and community engagement programs that support our triple bottom line of social, environmental and financial responsibility. They will work collaboratively across the region and in the co-op to ensure our community and giving programs are impactful, equitable and aligned with our mission, vision and values.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Leads community outreach and giving programs with an eye to impact, continuous improvement and innovation
  • Develops annual community outreach and giving strategy
  • Builds authentic relationships within the co-op and with our community partners
  • Supports our stores by leading community relations staff in development of community outreach plans, including for opening new stores
  • Works collaboratively across the organization and region
  • Manages and reports on giving data through our software, GivingTrax
  • Tracks and manages giving and outreach budgets
  • Centers diversity, equity and inclusion in all outreach and giving
  • Manages and mentors the community programs staff

Reporting Relationships

Reports to: VP of Social and Environmental Responsibility 


Direct reports: Community Relations Program Managers 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to work in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive customer service orientation
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 10+ years of experience in community outreach and giving programs
  • Experience managing a giving program for a consumer-facing business preferred
  • Experience with community outreach in the Puget Sound area required
  • Strong interest and ability to develop outreach and giving strategies
  • Experience mentoring and supervising staff
  • Experience integrating diversity, equity and inclusion into outreach and giving efforts
  • Valid Washington state driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends, and have the ability to travel to all PCC stores and to other work related locations
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving large objects or boxes
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills and ability remotely and in person
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to anticipate problems and follow through to complete tasks successfully
  • Ability to be a team player and appreciate working collaboratively as well as independently
  • Passion for food and PCC’s values
