Overview

The Internal Communications Program Manager is a key member of the Social and Environmental Responsibility and Communications team. Working collaboratively across the co-op, their work will help to inform and unite PCC staff through a positive understanding of the co-op’s Vision, Mission & Values and PCC’s work focused on the triple bottom line: economic, social and environmental impacts.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes internal communications plans– including the creation of content – to effectively engage with staff through multiple channels
  • Ensures staff are informed in a timely manner current events and activities across the co-op
  • Identifies the best ways to reach store and office staff through channels, content, voice, pace, format etc.
  • Work closely with HR, Operations, Marketing and other internal groups to ensure internal communications plans and activity are integrated, aligned and guided by a full understanding of staff perspective and staff inputs
  • Supports all-staff Town Hall meetings; engages with leadership for meeting direction and content
  • Understands trends in employee engagement, including the activities of other co-ops and competitors
  • Successfully manages complex and unexpected communications challenges
  • Works as a positive contributor to the team, and work collaboratively across the organization

Reports to: Director of Communications

Qualifications and Skills

REQUIRED:

  • 3+ years related experience in internal communications support
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively: written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, meet deadlines and effectively escalate critical issues
  • Strong computer skills with an intermediate level understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated with the ability to anticipate problems and follow through to complete tasks successfully
  • Ability to be a team player and appreciate working collaboratively as well as independently
  • Available to work evening and weekends as needed and able to travel to all store locations

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or marketing, or related field
  • Retail experience
  • Experience communicating to diverse audiences
